I am an admin on a networking page on Facebook called The Penguin Network. This page was born through a group of like minded ladies who joined together to form the Small Business Support Group. Both the group and the page bounce from one another and are made up of a lot of the same people. Below is the explanation taken from www.thepenguinnetwork.co.uk.
"Not so long ago, about 50 small businesses participated in some experiments to really find out how the algorithms of Facebook work, and how we could all improve our businesses by using Facebook differently. We almost all found that our reach increased and gained new likes for our pages, and most importantly, interaction on our pages increased too. It became apparent that a group of likeminded small business owners joining forces to create a group that would not only continue with some experiments, but also be mutually supportive of each other’s pages was a really helpful tool in building our own businesses.
So 30 of us have become a Small Business Support group for each other- what makes this group special and more unique than other groups is that we are getting to know each other really well.
By keeping the group small in number, we have found this brings the most
benefit. This friendship is inherent to what makes us work- not to mention that the group is filled with fun and chatty people too! It is amazing what
discussions can happen on such simple topics!
It is this group that is behind The Penguin Network. We value friendship, honesty, genuine networking and having fun building our businesses, and that is what we hope the network will become for all of you too. Already we have had sales for network users, increased traffic to pages and more interaction. What we have found in Small Business Support, is that getting to know each other’s businesses really well is what is helping to make them a success."
I have made a list of my dearest facebook networking friends below and I do hope you will have time to pop across and say hello. They are all very talented ladies and I wish them all the best with their businesses and I am sure we will all be friends for many years to come.
